November 24, 2025. The historic Oasis reunion world tour, which swept the globe into a frenzy of nostalgia and rock ‘n’ roll euphoria, finally concluded last night. As the London music scene—and indeed the world—nurses a collective post-tour hangover, I find myself thinking back to a chilly evening earlier this month in Soho.
I’m CityNomix. Today, I’m taking you on a journey through one of London’s most iconic vinyl districts, fueled by the lingering heat of Oasis fever. We are on Berwick Street, the spiritual home for record collectors. After leaving “Sister Ray” across the street, my next stop was the legendary sanctuary for rock and pop vinyl: Reckless Records.
Soho Nights and the Oasis Connection
It was around 6:00 PM on November 7th. The London winter sky had already turned pitch black, but on Berwick Street, a warm, inviting orange glow cut through the darkness.

Just seeing the facade of Reckless Records is enough to raise the pulse of any vinyl junkie. This street itself is steeped in Britpop history, famously featured on the cover of Oasis’s (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? album. Walking here feels like a pilgrimage.
My mission this time was clear: to find rare Oasis vinyl in the heart of London, right as their reunion tour was captivating the world. On my previous visit, I scored some fantastic records by Coldplay and The Stone Roses, but tonight, I was hunting for the Gallagher brothers.
Striking Gold: The “Wonderwall” Find
Stepping inside, I was greeted by that distinct, beloved smell of vintage cardboard and vinyl. I immediately headed to the “Rare & Collectible” section on the left wall—the first checkpoint for any serious digger.

My eyes darted across the display and landed instantly on a familiar image: the 12-inch single of Oasis’s anthem, “Wonderwall.” This was the original 1995 Creation Records pressing.
The price tag read £75. Considering the current global demand for Oasis memorabilia, it wasn’t an unfair price. However, as a long-time fan, I already have this gem sitting on my shelf at home. “Of course they have it,” I thought with a smile, deciding to leave it for the next lucky fan.
The £500 Noel Gallagher Holy Grail
Convincing myself that if they had “Wonderwall,” they might have something even rarer, I dove deeper into the bins. And then, I froze. There, standing out among the standard releases, was a 7-inch single that demanded attention.

It was a copy of Magic Secrets by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, a 2022 Record Store Day exclusive. But this wasn’t just any copy. It was one of only 50 copies in the world signed by Noel Gallagher himself.
The price? A cool £500. The condition was near mint. Discovering such a mega-rarity at Reckless Records right in the middle of the Oasis reunion fervor felt like destiny. While my budget didn’t allow me to take it home, simply holding such a piece of history was a thrill in itself—a true “digger’s high.”
The Cassette Revival and Moving On
Trying to calm my excitement, I moved to the center of the store. One trend that has been undeniable in London record shops lately is the resurgence of cassette tapes. Reckless is no exception, with an entire wall dedicated to them.

The selection was impressive, leaning heavily towards hardcore and punk on this visit. For Gen Z, the lo-fi sound of these plastic tapes offers a fresh, tangible counterpoint to digital streaming.
I checked the Stone Roses section as well, but found nothing new this time. But that’s the beauty of record hunting; you don’t always win, which makes the victories that much sweeter.
Conclusion: Why Reckless Records is Essential
My visit to Reckless Records was brief but intense, highlighted by that encounter with the £500 Noel Gallagher rarity. Even without making a purchase, the experience of browsing here is invaluable.
For any music lover visiting London, Reckless Records on Berwick Street is non-negotiable. It’s a place where music history is bought, sold, and appreciated every single day. Now, with the night still young, it’s time to head over to “Rough Trade” nearby.
