Booking Office 1869 Breakfast Review: A Sweet Farewell at St. Pancras

London mornings can be grey, but inside the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, the atmosphere is always golden. I’m CityNomix, and today I’m sharing my final morning in London.

The excitement from last night’s dinner still lingers. I enjoyed a phenomenal rib-eye steak right here at Booking Office 1869. The memory of that perfectly cooked meat in this historic setting is hard to shake.

However, today is about departure. Before I catch my flight to Lisbon, Portugal, I decided to treat myself to one last meal here. If the dinner was that good, surely the breakfast would be equally impressive.

A Morning in Gothic Grandeur

Waking Up to History

Booking Office 1869 isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a piece of history. Located within the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, this space was once the original ticket hall for the station. The high Victorian ceilings and neo-Gothic architecture are breathtaking.

In the morning light, the moody vibe of the evening transforms into something bright and airy. It feels like a grand stage for the start of a journey. Furthermore, being connected directly to St. Pancras International Station makes it incredibly convenient for travelers.

The Breakfast Order Ritual

Sitting down at the table, I faced a dilemma. What should be my final meal in London? The menu offered many tempting options. Ultimately, I decided to listen to my cravings rather than my calorie counter.

Starting with Almond Milk Cappuccino

First, coffee. My go-to order has become an almond milk cappuccino. It’s a comforting start to the day. The plant-based milk feels lighter, which is perfect before a flight.

The cappuccino arrived quickly. It was creamy, nutty, and slightly sweet. The latte art was a nice touch, adding to the visual appeal. Sipping this warm drink while watching the station’s hustle and bustle felt incredibly peaceful.

A Bowl of “Health”: The Fruit Salad

To balance the indulgence I was planning, I ordered a fruit salad. I told myself it was for the vitamins. Surprisingly, it wasn’t just a side dish. It was a generous bowl of fresh melon, strawberries, and berries.

Finding such fresh fruit in London can sometimes be a challenge. Therefore, this vibrant bowl was a delightful surprise. It was refreshing and cleansed the palate perfectly for the main event.

The Main Event: Nutella & Banana French Toast

Now, for the star of the show: the French Toast. The menu mentioned Nutella, and I was intrigued. I decided to go all in.

Thick slice of French toast topped with sliced bananas and drizzled with Nutella, accompanied by a bowl of fresh mixed fruit salad.
A decadent breakfast for the final morning: French toast topped with plenty of Nutella and bananas, paired with a fresh fruit salad.

Visuals and Aroma

When the plate arrived, I was stunned. It was a caloric masterpiece. Thick slices of brioche were smothered in Nutella and topped with plenty of banana slices. The aroma of butter, chocolate, and toasted bread was intoxicating.

Taste Test: A Perfect Balance

I took my first bite with hesitation. Would it be too sweet? To my surprise, the balance was exquisite. It was sweet, yes, but not cloying. I detected notes of maple syrup and cinnamon sugar.

These flavors balanced the richness of the Nutella perfectly. The bread was fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. The bananas added a fresh texture that cut through the chocolate density. It was delicious.

Leaving Calories Behind

This meal is definitely a calorie bomb. However, on vacation, calories don’t count, right? Or at least, that’s what I tell myself. It was an addictive flavor combination that I couldn’t stop eating.

Practical Tips for Your Visit

If you plan to visit Booking Office 1869 for breakfast, here are a few tips from my experience.

Location and Reservations

The restaurant is located inside the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, adjacent to the station concourse. It is perfect for a pre-Eurostar meal. I recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends, as it gets quite busy.

Service and Cost

The service was impeccable. I asked for everything to be brought at once because I was short on time, and they obliged with a smile. Expect to pay around £30-£40 for a full breakfast like this. It is pricey, but the atmosphere and quality justify the cost.

Conclusion: Off to Lisbon

With my stomach full and my spirits high, I am ready to check out. Booking Office 1869 provided the perfect ending to my London trip. I will definitely return.

Now, it’s time to head to the gate. Next stop: Lisbon. Stay tuned for more adventures on Photomo.
