There is something magical about waking up in London, especially when you are staying at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel. Following a fantastic dinner last night at the hotel’s main dining venue, Booking Office 1869 (where I enjoyed some incredible beers and oysters—read the full dinner review here), I knew exactly where I wanted to start my second day.
While the restaurant offers a moody, chic vibe in the evening, I was eager to see how it transforms in the morning light. Thus, I headed back to Booking Office 1869 for what I hoped would be another memorable meal.
A Bright Start: The Terrace Experience
Upon arrival, I requested a table for one. Instead of the main dining hall, the staff guided me to the terrace seating area located near the concierge desk. This area, adjacent to the bustling station concourse yet separated enough to be peaceful, offers a unique perspective of the historic architecture.

Walking past the elegant bar counter, I was struck once again by the blend of Victorian Gothic brickwork and modern design. It sets the stage for a truly sophisticated experience. When I sat down, I realized this spot was even better than I had anticipated.

The space is defined by its massive glass roof supported by intricate light blue iron trusses. It creates an incredibly open and airy atmosphere. Natural light floods in, making it the perfect setting for a refreshing breakfast. Unlike the dimly lit, intimate dinner setting, this terrace feels expansive and energizing.

Looking back towards the hotel entrance, the skylight extends beautifully, illuminating the path. It is a stunning visual reminder that you are in one of London’s most iconic buildings.
My Booking Office 1869 Breakfast Choices
Navigating the Booking Office 1869 menu is a delight, but I had my cravings sorted. I decided to start with my go-to coffee, add a healthy option, and finish with a classic egg dish.

First up was an almond milk cappuccino. I am particular about my coffee, and this one did not disappoint.
The almond milk added a subtle sweetness that enhanced the rich coffee flavor. Served in a classic white cup on a marble table, it was the ideal way to wake up my senses.

Next, I opted for the granola with Greek yogurt. I wanted something fresh to balance out the meal.
The presentation was lovely, with layers of thick Greek yogurt, crunchy granola, and a generous topping of strawberries and blackberries. The acidity of the berries paired perfectly with the creamy yogurt. It was a refreshing and healthy addition to the table.
The Main Event: Spinach Eggs Benedict
For the main course, I couldn’t resist the Eggs Benedict. I chose the spinach version (Eggs Florentine) over ham this time.

When it arrived, it looked flawless. The poached eggs were blanketed in a rich hollandaise sauce and speckled with black pepper. But the true test of any Eggs Benedict is the cut.

As I sliced into the egg, the yolk was cooked to perfection—runny, vibrant orange, and absolutely delicious. It reminded me of the excellent sauce I had at Dean Street Townhouse, but Booking Office 1869 holds its own with ease. The combination of the silky sauce, the runny egg, and the spinach was, simply put, so good.
Conclusion: A Must-Visit for Breakfast in King’s Cross
Starting the day with such a high-quality meal in such a stunning setting was a privilege. If you are looking for the best breakfast near St Pancras or King’s Cross, this is the place to be.
The open terrace offers a brighter, more relaxed alternative to the main restaurant interior, making it perfect for morning dining. Satisfied and energized, I am now ready to head next door to the British Library for their Beatles exhibition. My London adventure continues.
